Just wondering if anyone might be interested in a meet up in scotland sometime, With all the new members joining it might be a good place for old and new to meet and put faces to all these posts. Also if people just want to meet up for a good dog walk instead let me know, always happy for my dog to meet new friends, to be honest he is more socialable than me,

Hi, i just found this section and your post. I’m still getting to grips with my drone - I am not too brave yet. I’m at the stage though where i think it would be helfpul to see what more experienced people do, so I’d be up for a meet in Scotland if others are.

Totally missed this one. Easter weekend is looking OK weather wise, well Saturday and Monday are.
Saturday 19th at The Kelpies? Nice early morning shoot. Not quite as early at the Blackpool lot but it’s the weekend

I was thinking earlier, maybe from 8ish, as that’s currently the best weather window and before the Easter holiday crowds. Plus there is a Falkirk home match that day.

Depending on the household politics, I’m keen on this, even though I’ve got more Kelpies footage than I could ever use…
However, isn’t it fairly likely that there will be a large number of the uninvolved, based on the formula:
(Saturday + Easter Hols + Major Tourist Sight = IveGotTwoKidsAndADogCryingInTheCamperVanThanksToYou)?
Last year’s August event took us to a very quiet area, with no-one bothering us at all, and included some talented Avata flying inside a building.
Is there any chance that if we met at the Kelpies, we might move somewhere less populated?

That’s why I’m saying 8am start. Most of the great unwashed won’t be turning up at that time. Gives an hour or so of decent flying.
Plus I’ve not been to the Kelpies since I’ve been a drone owner so it’s for very selfish reasons.
Edit: That’s not to say we can’t move on afterwards.

Weather isn’t looking the greatest but it’s hovering around 20% chance of precipitation from 8am so not too bad.
As a sweetener, I’m bringing BabyFakeFPV along if anyone wants a shot. FatFakeFPV is too large and heavy for the location.
