We are having a meet up on Barr Beacon

Important to read the location details as some people still have difficulty finding it.

It is the North Car Park. The meet pages unfortunatly show a meet that is made by somone else too so when you view it you can see another meet location further down. It is the one more north by the traffic lights. Sadly this is something in dronescene and not anything I can do about it.

We will be there for 10am If you get there any earlier we always park in front of the blue binoculars (unless some dog walker has jumped in our space). Please note on the map where we are as we are in the north car park. If the gate you are about to enter is directly at a road junction then this is the wrong gate. With the road and entrance on your right continue to drive till you see the traffic lights ahead of you. It is the gates on your right before the traffic lights. There is a height restriction of 2.67m / 8.9ft use the left lane to avoid tyre damage as there are two lanes, one in and one out and if the road bends to the left then that is the correct one. This is a great location for people who have any mobility issues as you can fly from your car and should it rain then you can sit in your car until it stops. There are no toilets on site but there is a pub (The Foley Arms) a short drive. There is also an Asda that is also a short drive with toilets and a pub called the Cat And Fiddle close by. It is a nice open space high up. Great views.
Please also note that during this meet we will once again be monitoring this thread so if you can not find us, send a message to us here and we will reply. If you are over the other side we will have a fly over and see where you are.

If you have a remote control car, bring it along as it is also a great place to drive one. There are long straights for the RC Car, there is also an open area to drive, there is also a place for a bit of RC off roading.

Thanks to the support for people coming to our meets. It is great when we see each of you turn up. Do not forget to come and see me so we can check you in. If we have printed a card for you please bring it. If we have not then come and ask us for one to be printed (no charge).

We also have a printer that will print your operator ID's if you need one. (No charge)

Yes, all the icons from a location get copied to a meetup - to save you having to add 101 markers

When viewing the club meetup details, you as the organiser should be able to click on any markers then delete them if you don’t want them there

Ok will look at it as there are two different areas of Barr Beacon. Different entrances and you can not get from one to the other by car unless leaving back to the road. Will look now. Thanks

@PingSpike I wondered if the markers had anything to do with the war memorial pin that was pinned by @firstadekit and I added parking and TOAL for it. But they are still there, if you hit the lower of the two maps that show up?

Yes mate, correct, we avoid this side due to the amount of people that go to this side. A lot of people are not aware of the other side as it used to be closed a lot years ago and the memorial side used to have a lot of CBers (including me), ice cream van etc. However now there are more idiots over that side and we are more likely to meet High, Drunk Karen and Ken
