I’m organising a meetup at Broadmarsh Coastal Park :smiley:

Where:

When: Sunday, 26th April 2026

Start time: 15:00

Approximate end time: 19:00

Suitable for drone types: Camera Drones & FPV Drones

Additional notes:
Have flown here before. Good amount of parking. There is an elevated field above the slipway area that should be ok for FPV - could be long grass so an audible means of finding your drone might be good :slight_smile:

2 metre height barrier at entrance to site.

The slipway is used by the on-site angling club though there should be no conflict of interest, there's plenty of space.

Views of Langstone Harbour, Portsmouth, Hayling Island, Havant Industrial Estates and Budds Farm Sewage Works.

But meetups are more a social event than a means of taking prizewinning photos.

Dogs welcome, bring your own water and shade for them.

No toilets or refreshments on site, being Sunday Tesco will close at 16:00. No seating either.

Weather looks ok with surface winds manageable.

Hi Amdrew, look forward to meeting you - I see you are a relatively new member. There will be peopel there more than happy to give you advice and tips on flying - if you want them. There’s ]lemty of room around the site too. Should be fun!

Now I thought about this. Days make no difference to me as I have no dependents and no partners; I can suit myself as to what I do and when I do it, subject to the usual constraints of pre-arranged appointments.

But then there are those poor beniughted souls who have to work or spend their leisure time being dragged around IKEA or taking the weans to swimming lessons in between gardening, washing the car and cleaning out the gutters.

And I thought, having a view of family life mostly derived from soaps and sitcoms, that a Sunday afternoon was probably the time that most civilians could slip away for a couple of hours to go flying :slight_smile:

Totally understand and agree Rob. Was just basing the suggestion purely on the weather forecast.
Personally, I would be happy with either the Saturday or Sunday so whatever you go with I’ll be there :crossed_fingers:. I will be working on the Friday night so won’t get to bed until around 7am Saturday :face_with_spiral_eyes: so it could very well turn out that Sunday is best for me anyway.

I’m her dependent!

After my first heart attacj and subsequent 5way CABG it was a choice between her or an exercise bike.So I’'m forced into exercise and have nowhere to dry my clothes …

Food for thought, but I’m going to pass on that this time as I’m working the night before and so don’t want to commit myself. There’s a very good chance I could make it for mid afternoon but really don’t want to make it official myself just in case. :woozy_face:
