I’m organising a meetup at RAF Upwood :smiley:

When: Sunday, 13th July 2025

Start time: 14:00

Approximate end time: 17:00

Suitable for drone types: FPV Drones

Additional notes:
Meet up around 2pm. I’ve not been before and no idea of the state of access but I’d love to go have a look anyway. I’ll be taking my Cinewhoops. Anyone fancy joining?

if anyone wants to come, can you please give me a PM and we can share whatsapp to meet up, or I guess we can use this forum on the day. I’ll be arriving around 2 and aiming to recon some place to park up. I don’t have an OS map of the area - I’ll go have a look on openstreetmap now for access.

I’ve been a few times, have always parked just inside the gates off the main road. The ‘roads’ inside, particularly as you go deeper into the site aren’t quite as clear cut as they may look on Google maps etc!

The bits I’ve mostly flown are around the tower and surrounding buildings.

From my last trip there…

It’s an awesome place to fly, so many nice gaps and lines to find. :star_struck:

By that map looks like almost every thing has gone. SHQ and the MGR look like they are going to developed , Just a few barrack blocks at the bottom. Shame its just a bit to far from me . looks like you may be the last people to fly this location before its all gone. Have a great day
