Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024, Flight from Blackpool (england) to Edinburgh (scotland), Going Via Blackpool, Lake District, Solway Coast, Anthorn Radio Station, Carlisle, Scottish borders, including Galashiels and Peebles, then a fly over Edinburgh Airport and then over Edinburgh, then Landing at Edinburgh Airport.

The flight is an external view from the DeimoS inc Felon (Su-57)
The “DeimoS inc Felon” is a fictional, high-performance turbofan fighter aircraft model available for Microsoft Flight Simulator (MSFS). It’s powered by two Saturn AL-41F1 afterburning turbofan engines, each producing 19,900 lbs of thrust in military power and 32,000 lbs under full afterburner. The Felon has a top speed of 860 mph (Mach 1.3) in supercruise and 1,320 mph (Mach 2.0) under full afterburner.

hi, no i did try a demo of x plane 12, did buy thrustmaster t.fight, But have not used it on dcs, but i might, should be easy to fly with this than a joypad.

do you use sim dashboard, , just looking at the tablet i think in front of your joystick. Here is a photo of stan about to go onto concorde, also the cockpit of concorde, and vulcan, also the harrier. It was at east fortune air museum, in east lothian near edinburgh.

That looks like a great museum, not often such places let you wonder into cockpits :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:
Harrier is one of the modules I fly in DCS… Love it :rofl:
I believe MSFS has a Vulcan you can actually fly?
No, I use an android app called DCS-DTC on my Android tablet which will display any number of aircraft panels from DCS providing ‘touch’ screen functionality rather than having to keep grabbing the mouse and clicking things

i have vulcan and conocrde, harrier, for msfs 2024, not sure where you are but carlisle air museum is also good.

i was down duxford years ago, then i went down to bovington, and car museum down that way, on the way back up stopped of at donnigton to the f1 museum, just installed dcs, via steam

DCS - Steam vs Standalone?
Steam has some advantages for some people. HOWEVER, buying modules (aircraft) can get expensive and ONLY the standalone version allows you FREE trials per module for 2 weeks every six months :man_shrugging:t2:
Do you fly MSFS in VR or 2D with head tracker?

i thought i would retry dcs, on steam free, but i did have oculus quest, but i wear glasses with a prism so was not good, i have attempted to use head tracker on ets and ats, but i think i need a dedicated webcam i was using my phone, sure it was beam eye tracker. I know you can get prescription made lense for the quest but i need a prism, i was looking into psv2 headset, but the steam headset is coming out soon, so might see reviews regarding people with glasses.

The core game of DCS is free whether through steam or standalone
Two main advantages with standalone are, as I said, free trials of modules & not all modules are installable through steam.
However steam, as you’ve installed it, is certainly good enough to see if you like it :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Compared to MSFS? Well that is certainly a “ $64,000 “ question :rofl:
Often, someone’s best simulator is the one they install & get used to first !

MSFS’s Photo realistic World Map is it’s real plus as of course everyone likes to fly over their own house :rofl: And, of course it excels if you are ‘into’ civilian airliners :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

However, imho, DCS excels in all other respects. But it is very much a ‘Study Level’ flight simulator and then some being also a ‘Study Level’ Combat Simulator.

DCS’s maps are different to MSFS’s maps in that they have to cater for eras; WWII, Cold War & Modern to suit the aircraft and combat scenarios they fit into.
DCS’s Aircraft, Flight, Navigation, Radar, Weapons, Counter measure & Other Systems Modelling are arguably second to none :man_shrugging:t2:

However, it does need a pretty powerful PC, GPU & RAM (Mine is a home built Intel I9.xxx CPU, RTX 3080 TI with 64GB DDR5 RAM rendering in 4K. It copes but would struggle with any top range VR headset at that resolution).

It all depends what you want really. To just fly around and enjoy the scenery then MSFS is good, But if you’re ‘into’ aircraft and want to experience ‘realism’ then DCS fits :man_shrugging:t2:

What sold me to DCS was originally their Spitfire, Huey Helicopter & the F-18 Hornet with their Super-carrier module (the closest I or anyone will ever get to experiencing ‘realistic’ carrier operations in a simulator) But now I’ve most Warbirds Spitfire, Mosquito, P-51, P-47, Corsair; Some cold war jets Sabre, F-4 Phantom, F-5E, ‘modern’ jets F-14, F-16, F-18, AV-8B, MB-339, Hawk T1; helicopters Huey, Chinook, Kiowa, Apache plus their recently released C-130J Hercules !!! (Some of which I can fly!!! :man_shrugging:t2::rofl:)

DCS also comes with a fully fledged Mission Editor for building your own custom missions with a wealth of ‘programmable’ AI Aircraft, Air Defences, Ships, Ground Vehicles, Troops & more…

Also with DCS there is a huge number of Multi-Player servers running missions in different eras along with many groups setup to deliver training on particular aircraft all of which is usually free! And with ‘port forwarding’ You can run your own missions as multi-player missions and have others join in with you on your own PC

If you have Discord that can be a help as most/many DCS’ers communicate with it?

And… NO, I’m not on any kind of commission :rofl: I just think it is really, really good. But it does need some time and patience to install, setup & run. Can be a little daunting at first. Certainly was for me :scream: But in hindsight the effort was worth it :man_shrugging:t2:

Hi sorry for the late reply, I have a ryzen 9 9950x3d, 32gb, rtx 4070 super, cant afford more ram, might sell a kidney to get some. Yeah i like flying edinburgh to cumbria in msfs 2024, but do like the idea of flying war planes, i am sure microsoft did do a warplane one once, i used to play some on the atari and amiga. think there is korea game for il-2 coming out soon. But i will try dcs on friday, just been busy. I notice a massive difference using the thrustmaster in msfs compared to joypad, so hopefully this time i should be getting into dc2. That is the thing with sims that are very accurate, like real life you have to learn and try and try.

No sweat :hot_face: Far too nice a day to be on a computer anyway.
Your PC should run a basic DCS install just fine. 64GB Ram is a nicety many other DCS’ers don’t have.
Unfortunately DCS does not have a map than covers anywhere north of London. By default it comes with a free Caucuses & Pacific Marianas maps - all other maps are paid addons :man_shrugging:t2:
