Mini 2 component identification

What component is this

Mates mini 2 he crashed itcin Blackpool on saturday on inspection the ribbon cable to this is split.
Faults are the usual gimbal incompatible data and imu calibration needed
So thinking this may be the actual IMU chip.
???

Need to see the other side of it with the chip on, then can probably look it up.

You can buy the replacement assembly here but the photo isn’t high enough resolution to reach the chip number.

It might be the compass unit (google seems to agree with this anecdotally) as mounting it there puts it as far as possible away from the battery which is what you want for best performance. I believe the IMU is mounted on the same PCB as the GNSS chip towards the centre of the drone.

Cheers compass makes sense.

It is part of the 3 in 1 flex cable. One end is what you see, the others go to the camera and the core board.

Make sure he gets an original DJI replacement. Otherwise the errors will likely continue. Also, “incompatible data error” is seen when a damaged gimbal is repaired with new parts, but the IMU doesn’t recognise them. I read somewhere that DJI need to run their “repair tool” to rebind the parts.

Thanks for the answers, I’ll let him deal with it, i just had a look to see if it was a loose connection between the board and the cable as that can cause the fault,
However no such luck this time.
