Mini 3 pro gimbal leveling slow

I have recently noticed that if the gimbal goes off level due to a sharp roll or turn all though it gets most of the way to level quite quickly. to get to actual level (sea horizon level with grid lines, can take 30 or more seconds in the worst case scenario. it seems worse in sports mode.

Is there a way to speed this up in some settings, i can’t find any gain settings for roll in the gimbal settings, and also i can’t see a way in DJI assistant 2 for consumer drones.

I reckon it’s a faulty gimbal, have you done a calibration

Yes several,
Was playing with it at the desk last night and it didn’t seem to do it straight away, but the longer i messed with it the longer it took.
Some more investigations required.

Any error messages (gimbal overload etc)?

Does Airdata give you any clues

No errors, im just waiting for airdata to catch up with syncing flight data with dji.

video from 14min into the flight or there abouts

Looking at the logs ( warnings) around 14 mins into the flight, there’s a lot of warnings about poor signal. I wonder if it’s something to do with that ?

i don’t think so as it was happening before and after, i just deliberately took the video at this point to highlight the anomaly at this point as would easily be ably to match the logs with the video.
the video starts at around 14"20’

When you calibrate it is it flat after, if not try to manually adjust it

If that doesn’t work speak to DJI and send them that video, as I still reckon it’s faulty

Hows it on the kitchen table? or flying really close to you?

If you move it by hand with the power off does it feel gritty at all?

After a calibration it’s not 100% flat so manually callibrate.
Move it by hand it takes time getting back to flat.
Flying next to me it’s the same
Fly forward left hand side drops (tilts to the left), flying backwards the right drops (tilts to the left).
Have posted on the DJI forum they said it may have been windy :rofl: just done another. Will post that in a short while.
Yep i think there is a fault.

new video which shows no wind if you watch the end
this is from 2"07’ of the log

I don’t know much or if at all about the mini 3 but, does the gimbal on those not have the little rubber grommets / around it that cushions the gimbal ? As some of the other DJI drones do, was wondering if maybe one had came out or not seated properly, just a thought !

Cheers for the suggestion Rich @Kirky just checked and it’s not that.
think it’s time to sort a repair out.

I had this exact issue with a Mini 2. Calibration, rubber grommets, firmware updates … nothing would fix it. Like you, I resorted to manually calibrating each flight.

Fortunately, I crashed it and was given a replacement by DJI

Now why doesn’t that surprise me.:rofl:

Result. Chanced my arm, popped into Argos, they are ordering a replacement in for tomorrow.
