MIni 3 Pro or Air 2s

Hi, from prospective drone purchaser. I have just joined and with the help and advice from some of the members I have narrowed purchase down to air 2s or mini 3 pro. I did fancy the Hubsan Zino 2+ but a member pointed out that spares might become an issue.
At the moment I am drawn to the mini pro 3 but before I take the plunge. I would be grateful if anyone can advise whether there are any benefits to extra cost the air2s.
Thanks

Hi Coll

I’ve no experience with the 2s but have the Mini 3 Pro, purely from a practical point of being able to fly the Mini 3 in most places is the winner for me. (bear in mind any flight restrictions which precludes any drones).

Image wise, I’m happy with the Mini 3, you’ll see lots of photo examples on here, my only criticism would be range but that can be fixed with the FCC hack or you keep it close by within line of sight.

Thanks for the advice markas,
I done the test and payed for a licence because I was going to get the Hubsan Zino but I think it was a waste as the less restrictions of the mini 3 do make it more appealing.

The Mini 3 Pro has become my go to drone when I go out, while the Air 2S is a great drone it does set limitations on where it can be flown even under Article 16, whereas I can throw up the Mini 3 Pro just about anywhere outside of restricted areas. The Air 2S camera is better but only marginally so.
When you say

Do you mean the Flyer ID and Operator ID ones?
If so, you still need the Operator ID to fly the 3 Pro.

Thanks Onanist. I just realised that if its got a camera I still needed Flyer ID and Operator ID.

Told you I was new to this Ha.

I went with the 3pro. and fly-more add-on kit.
Best advice i have had so far…  :+1: :+1:

Thanks It looks like that is the route I am going.

I’ve had the Air 2s, did my A2 CofC etc and still found it restricted me too much as I like a lot of photography in towns / city’s etc, got the Mini 3 Pro and absolutely love it, send it up more a less anywhere providing no airspace restrictions, the camera I found a lot better on the 48mp setting and a lot cheaper to replace if you get DJI care refresh, the Air 2s got sold not long after buying the M3P as it never got used, also if you go for the M3P get the RC remote (screen version), loads better than faffing with your phone :+1:t3:

Thanks Kings, I was unsure and would have been gutted if I had bought the wrong one but thanks to you lads I think its the m3p.
Cheers for your advice

Thanks for taking the time to help.

I have both and agree with others mini 3 pro is the one, I take it with me everyday in the car as I can fly anywhere.

Thanks ziceman I appreciate your time. It looks like imgetting the mini3pro but just out of interest does the air2s zoom make a difference and does the extra weight make it more stable.

image quality of the Air 2S is superior and more stable,

Air 2S has better zoom also, going up 4K: 4x, 2.7K: 4x, 2.7K: 6x, 1080p: 6x, 1080p: 8x.

Zoom and tracker on the air 2s is awesome, unsure with mini 3 never tested it out, zoom to me is nice feature but I rather go closer but 2x zoom be max I use as your start seeing washed out unsure the photographer lingo but I find colours not as clear.

Zoom is great to observe and not be seen or heard and mini 3 pro is more silent

Mini 3 pro 4K: 2x, 2.7K: 3x, 1080p: 4x.

Amateur photographer Mini 3 pro

But both take good pictures and film to use in today’s market.

Look at @ianinlondon YouTube channel, he has had every drone model even the Mavic 3 with far superior 28x zoom :scream: but I think in reading or him saying his travel drones would be the mini 3 pro and the air 2s. I’m the same as there pros and advantages with both.

I recall a post last year where a member I think it was @speatuk tested the mini s2 and Mavic 3 zoom quality.

Goodluck in your purchase.

Thanks for your detailed response ziceman. I like the idea of the extra zoom and will take a look at the links.

Cheers
