Mini 3 Pro Wet Suit?

They are brushless and the very same that are used in many RC submersibles! :joy:

And I have flown my Mini 2 many times in the rain - with zero issues.

My main issue with this is he promotes it like some kind of magic formula when it’s basically sticky neoprene covering the bits which are already waterproof and not covering the bits which aren’t.

regardless of how much the so called wet suits appear to protect your drone, in the end, it all boils down to one thing, electronics and moisture ,do not good bedfellows make ,the problem is not so much rain itself ,but the contaminants that it contains ,as far as the motors of the drone are concerned, as others have stated ,they are really the least likely parts that rain will damage ,due to their construction.
moisture over time, could get into the gimbal motors ,and that can cause future issues ,the only safe way to protect your drone is avoid flying in rain or moisture laded air

I guess it fools some people though.
He’s very active at making sure absolutely no reviews published about it are negative (by paid advertising on phantompilots/mavicpilots etc and removing YT comments).

There’s also the legal issue in many countries around the world stating not allowed to fly in the rain or not against manufacturers recommendation (and DJI say dont fly in rain).

Gimbal motor and camera are the most likely to get water in (especially the mini 3 with its dodgy o-ring problem) and those aren’t and can’t be protected at all.

In the rain, I fly with the gimbal cover on. All functions still work and you can hardly tell in the image, certainly nothing that can’t be corrected in post.

Yes, according to DJI, I’m not meant to leave it on. But then again, I do a lot of things that I am not meant to do

Mmmmm a neoprene wetsuit for your drone…Neoprene holds water, so the heavier the rain or the longer you leave it in the damp the more water it will hold, this will significantly increase the weight of your drone meaning less battery life. Once the neoprene is dry on the surface moisture will still be trapped where the wetsuit meets the platic and along the joints, this could stay that way for a long time. Not something I would subject my drone to. If you want to fly in the rain buy a Swellpro drone.

Think of it as a ā€œGimp Suitā€ for a Mini 3. . . . . :diving_mask:. . . :joy: :joy: :joy:

@SparkyFPV would love one of these

I came across this earlier what do you think?

@alexmciver I’ve moved your post as this has already been discussed :+1:
