I agree to be honest. I hear more positive tyan negative about the service from DJI. Also from my own experience was nothing byt great. I bought my drine from Argis, when i had an issue with it they didnt want to know so contacted DJI and they sorted out everything for me and sent a replacement
after two days of no drone connection and multiple guidance, YT, etc i found this
https://youtu.be/7ZW3ZeP_eXs?t=308… I did most of this but not without the phone/app connected on the RC. Took it off and held the drone power button a lot longer than suggested and it did beep to go into linking mode.. set up the RC too and within 2 seconds it was linked!
Unusually with this done i had to authorise CAAC or it wouldn’t let me take off at all.
Sorry to hear you lost your drone but great the DJI has stepped-up.
I assume you couldn’t actually ‘see’ your drone or had nobody with you spotting - yep, I guess everyone breaks the rules at some point, but it’s worth mentioning to refresh the rules surrounding flight regulation in the UK - basic content from the CAA sign-up.
Around here birds or prey are a real issue, as big species like red kites appear from nowhere and won’t hesitate to think the drone is an enemy and take it out in an instant. At the seaside gulls also go for them. Not sure what you have in Birmingham, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if something similar didn’t happen - a peregrine falcon perhaps?
Then again, we’ve just had an Apache over at 200ft - not much you can do about that when they are running training sorties. Fortunately, I am sat at my desk…
