One thing I have noticed about the DJI Neo is the lack of flight logs if you use just the drone on its own.
On Saturday I took the Neo on a bit of a Mountain Bike ride to play around with the Active Track features as the weather was just perfect for it.
I only have one flight log from the load of take off and landings I did and that was when I had my phone connected to the drone. All the others seem to be missing
So what happens in the event of a crash ? How do you recover any flight data ? Or is it just simply that the drone does not have these logs as its generated by the DJI Fly app on the phone / controller / goggles ?
I see a load of SRT files when you download the footage but this is basically just lat / log / alt / camera meta data no wind speed / drone speed or warning data.
Looking around the web I see a few post about missing flight logs but no one seems to point out that this is by design ( maybe) or how to recover them.
Anyone else noticed this or have experience of this ?
Seems the flight logs are on the Neo - you can see the logs in the DJI Assistant 2 software and you can download them as DAT files.
Still not sure how you view them though.
AirData lets you upload the files to there system but it does say at the end of the upload that DAT files are in BETA and it may take a bit of time for them to sync to your flight logs. Its been about 2-3hrs and still nothing so I am unsure if this was successful.

Bit more info on this incase others are having this issue.
AirData will not read DAT files from newer drones as it seems they are encrypted - details of the drones supported can be found here - DAT | Help Articles | AirData UAV
Had a chat with DJI Support about the missing flight logs and they have confirmed that headless flights ( no controller - palm take off follow me mode type flights ) do not sync flight logs to the DJI Fly app once it has connected to the drone after a flight ( the DJI Goggles work this way - they record the flight logs and when you plug your phone in then they sync - the Neo does not work this way
)
They are working on the sync process so expect to see it in a future Fly app / firmware update
For now all you can do is download the DAT files via the DJI Assistant 2 software and send it to DJI for analysis.
