My old companion Mikey, he was stolen last year when i fell asleep on a night bus. When my health started failing last year my brother and sister found me a ‘replacement’ for Mikey and he called Charlie.

You are the first person to know that; yes Mikey and Charlie are the same as hers. Which may go some way to explain why they were so expensive when I tried to get a ‘replacement’ for Mikey - over £100.

I don’t know what my brother and sister paid for Charlie but they went 50/50 because of how the theft was affecting my health (it’s a long story not for here.)

Nina’s original came from woolies many years ago.

There is a reel somewhere of her trying to source a replacement

Interesting. I didn’t know that but Mikey, the stolen one, had a label sewn in to him saying that it was a Woolworths product. Charlie doesn’t have that label just one saying he was made in China and imported by a company in New York, USA.

Cold Coke and cricket; it’s what summer was made for…

You need to get the coke in the glass bottles, it’s much better

Wish i could afford to, i get through about 50 cans a month, and not usually the size in the photo - thats why there are two - usually 330ml fulll sugar cans. I avoid whenever possible plastic bottled coke.

Yes I can be a expensive treat , we buy ours on subscription direct from coke cola , the taste difference in the old style glass bottles is amazing , cans are not so bad but plastic bottles taste is rubbish and it goes flat quickly, in the glass bottles it doesn’t go flat , it’s funny how what it comes in so drastically effects the taste.

Do you know why McDonald’s coke is so good? Apparently bulk users of coke, such as bars and fast food, get coke as a syrup which they mix with soda water. This syrup comes in polybags but McDonald’s has a special arrangement whereby theirs comes in steel containers.

I won’t admit to my dietitian how much coke I actually drink; it’s not good for renal patients.

Just checked Coke website 330ml bottles are more than twice as expensive as 300ml cans at Asda currently.

I actually deliver bulk sugar for a living , one of the main customers is coke , when they are in full production mode they have a lorry every 2 to 3 hours , we blown the granulated sugar into the silo ( average 28 ton ) and they can use it as fast as we can get it in there .

I used to deliver the cans, mainly from Metal Box or Continental Can Company, loaded all over Europe, I assumed it was a tax dodging tactic for these big companies mainly American owned.
I also used to have a giggle when parked up for the night in UK services, to wake to someone having slashed a smiley face in my curtain and thinking he had hit the jackpot, full load of coke cans or beer ones, to only find they are empty :joy:
