I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Monk Bretton Priory is an English Heritage site which has been excavated to show one of the most detailed floor plans of any such building. Access is straightforward with parking nearby and TAOL from a public lane alongside the site.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 03/08/2026. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location. Landowner permission may be required before taking off.

To fly any drone over an English Heritage sight, you have to fill out a form and submit a risk assessment and a method statement.

@Buccaneer66 thankfully they are not the CAA and they don’t regulate your airspace.

As @Ian5 said, you don’t need to contact English Heritage for anything, ever.

Or National Trust, or PLA, or Network Rail, or anyone else who is not the CAA.
