Since using up a refresh on my Avata 2 and having to get new arms for my build, I’m feeling reluctant to fly, flew a bit this morning, 3 packs, but hesitant to fly now, what do you all spend monthly on crashes, not new builds, upgrades or new kit… I’m extremely nervous about using my last Avata 2 refresh and proposed this to DJI in my last correspondence on the service they provided during my refresh.
“Maybe DJI should offer refresh levels, im sure a lot of us would be more than willing to spend more money on refresh levels, an example below
Level Bronze - 2 refresh per year - £49
Level Silver - 5 refresh per year - £79
Level Gold - 7 refresh per year - £180
Level Platinum - unlimited refresh per year - monthly subscription of £50 a month or whatever you deem the amount to be.”
Anyone in the same boat as me? worried about the costs of crashing DJI or self-builds? and what are you all spending monthly on repairs?
That’s me!!! But I have still had two claims. Once when flying inside a factory with no gps or obstacle avoidance, loads of noise from industrial machinery. And the second was a family member who broke it while attending a birthday party, I later found out they were scared of drones and saw it sitting beside the fireplace with nobody about. They decided to smash it to bits. I only found out the truth a few months later from their little brother who wanted to have a shot of it in the park. I could have mentioned it to the parents, possibly should have, but decided to keep quiet as it was in the past and already paid for. With a little patience and understanding, I have now managed to get said family member flying it and no longer scared. I am glad I never mentioned it to the parents as it would have just caused the young one unnecessary suffering.
