I’ve only had my new mini 2, up 3 times so far. Just from my back garden. The second time I flew it into the rotary washing line. Thankfully no damage when I retrieved it from the muddy grass this 3rd time nearly got attacked by pigeons.
. Been as high as 200ft. Which at the moment for a complete newbie is a bit scary. As I’ve seen the reports of the mini not responding to controls. To even think of going a mile or something like that is really scary.
(Yes I know we have to keep it in sight)
I suppose as I get more used to it and my confidence grows I will be more at ease with it.
Can’t wait to get out in a field or somewhere where I can master the controls a bit more.

Move away from the washing line lol.
If you have open fields around you, go there and just fly it about, at different heights trying out different things.
Have a look at the pdf below. Try each of the maneuvers on this pdf and it will give you a great grounding and really improve your confidence.

I took mine out for the 3rd time yesterday, it is really daunting as a newb. Flew it 1.5 kilometres away at around 110 meters which gave me confidence for next time.
