Over on the island for two weeks in June, be looking for good places to fly. be our 10th trip, lol
Where about are you on the island?

I live in Ryde. Where about will you be staying? There are some fantastic place to fly here.

Staying in Whitwell

I’m on Hayling and can see across to your patch of heaven most mornings when Dogzilla and I are walking the beach.

Maybe we could get our drones to meet in the middle?

That’s a nice area to stay

Yeah maybe!

I’m over in Fareham / Portsmouth - was thinking of catching the hovercraft over one day (since I actually have never been on it!). Would be good to take the drone with me!

You will have to sit the Isle of Wight Aviation Authority test - similar to our GVC and requiring a 100% pass mark - and register each drone with the IoWAA at a cost of £25 per aircraft.

Or send me £50 and I can sort out the paperwork for you …

Hi Steve, belated welcome to the club. I’m from Ryde too

Thank you and hello. I’m surprised I haven’t seen many flyers in Ryde. Do you fly locally?

I’m new to the hobby. I have been practicing on Salters Road playing field and the one next to Ryde Academy at weekends. I have plans for more places once I am more confident.

I use to live in salters road and that playing field was the first place i ever used a drone.

I’m in St Michaels Ave so not far to go. Once this weather improves then I will get out more.

Careful now - this is a family forum …

Just joined the forum today. Thought I’d say hello as I’m over in Pompey! I’ve been flying my drone(s) for about three years now. I have actually flown on the island over at The Needles, which was awesome! Bit windy for my Mini 3 Pro so next time I’m going to take my Air 3 which should prove more resilient.
Anyways, thought I’d just say hi,
Andy :sunglasses:
