Motion Controller 2 Binding Issue

This thing will not bind, I’ve raised a returns ticket with Amazon but if anyone has any hints, please share.
I’m able to bind the RC and the other Motion Controller within seconds but this new one will not bind even after over an hour of trying?

Which goggles are you using ??

V2’s, I’ve woken up to the inkling it’s a firmware issue, Goggle are 0n 01.01.000.000, just downloaded the correct Assistant to see if I can read the firmware on the Controller…

A firmware mismatch seems to have been the cause of most linking problems - according to a couple of other forums.
Apparently connecting a mobile device to the goggles and opening the Fly app can sometimes offer an option to update and bind :man_shrugging:

I can confirm the firmware match i.e. Aircraft, Goggles V2 and motion controller are all 01.01.000.000,
I flashed the Controller too just to be sure…no dice…

I’m not sure of connecting the Goggles as I don’t want to risk a lockout if I don’t update to the latest, the thing is since buying, the goggles have never been connected to the FryUp to get screwed up by Dji.

V01.03.0000

What’s New?

  • Added support to use with DJI RC Motion 2.
  • Added support to use with DJI Goggles Integra.
  • Added erasing all aircraft data. Tap Settings > About > Clear All Data to erase all data.
  • Added RTH altitude prompt after updating the Home Point.
  • Extended the low battery RTH countdown to 15 seconds.
  • Added visual prompts when remote control or image transmission signals are weak. The visual prompt is displayed only when the aircraft is used with the DJI Goggles 2 or DJI Goggles Integra.

To get to this it looks like I’d have to go through 01.02.0015 as I think it’s incremental, my thoughts are to root first as I’m looking to get the Avata next…
I admit I haven’t been paying attention and keeping up with all the developments, I’ve got a lot of catching up to do having looked at Mads Tech… :man_facepalming:

Any pointers? or can I just go straight to 03.000

When I looked it said it’s only compatible with the Avata

Are you trying to use it with the DJI FPV

Yes

Heliguy

The RC Motion 2 is compatible with the DJI Avata and DJI FPV Drone. It is also compatible with the DJI Goggles Integra, DJI Goggles 2, and DJI FPV Goggles V2.

DJI are saying its not

Extract from DJI Store page for Motion Controller 2 …

Looks like Heliguy may have got it wrong.

There is also a post on the DJI forum where someone has the same problem and the DJI moderator has advised the FPV drone is not compatible with the MC 2 - not that I would put much faith in the DJI moderators :man_shrugging:

I’ll be returning it for now, until l’m ready for it and the Avata, hopefully before the Big Meet.

Surely a firmware update for the FPV is imminent

Have you asked DJI if this is coming

I doubt it, the FN button doesn’t work with Goggles 2 in order to shepherd us to the lates editions.

Dji
When used with DJI FPV Goggles V2, DJI RC Motion 2 does not support adjusting camera parameters or the gimbal tilt through the FN dial.

No, I’m just not in any hurry right now but might do closer to the time I’ve planned for the Avata.

Same here no adjustment from the dial. Out of interest how do you find the MC2. I tried today for the first time and tbh it gave me a fright, the drone shot off and I pressed pause and then removed the goggles to regain some sort of control. This was in normal mode

Never used it, I’ve returned mine.
