Motor or ESC?

You just got to try them all if you can.
Dji / ws looks nice. Hdzero flys nice.

Nothing wrong with the first 2. They fly good and look very nice.

Hdzero feels a lot slicker.

You wont see the latency. But you’ll feel it in the way it responds to you. Just more connected.

O3 will work with V2, g2 and Integra’s. V1 goggles only work with vista/link/og airunit. You want a pair of V2 at least. Compatible with everything. Actually the new goggles 2 don’t work with the DJI FPV! Also V2 do 120fps where as new ones 100 (although they are higher res! And oled) nothings easy hah

Grub screw? Only the ones through the frame and the main bearing ones on it. Nothing wrong with any of those. Away for a few days but new motor should be there on my return to get it flying again!

Right now, I am still definitely leaning more to WS. If more manufacturers start selling HDZ goggles, then i might try some. But right now, probably still going to go with some Recon HD goggles and a 1S whoop vtx+cam type package. Spend no more than £300 on the whole lot if possible.

If decide to go the other way, there are some good deals out there.

(I have seen even cheaper…)

The main issue with either of the WS goggles is that you tie yourself to the one system. I love that I can use 3.

Just ordering other stuff this AM…

Plenty of vistas inc the “best” neb pro (not nano), though £158… eeek…

Might get one for stock. Wonder if CAADX will continue to make the neb pro camera even though they stop the vistas (runcam are going to continue with the link anyways)

Though the WS “Pro” is slightly more (albeit you get on board recording, so not comparing the same)

Remember to use the discount code if you order one. Every little helps. :stuck_out_tongue:

If and when I get a WS I’m looking more at the 1S Whoop board vtx. Plumb it into an external BEC and use it on any size quad. It’s limited to 200mW, but that’s all I tend to use on analogue, so should be fine for the quads that i tend not to fly over a couple hundred metres away (which is all of them currently).

I honestly could see me having one of each by the end. One DJI, One WS, One HDZ. Each seems to excel at certain things. From looking at various videos, I know the WS seems to be good for LR out to about 34km (from one of Wezley Varty’s old videos before he took them down) and GiantAntCowboy has taken HDZ out to 10-15km on some of his vids. Not that I can see me breaking any records over here, but I would like to do a 5km run at some point, maybe up in Scotland or over in Wales and dive some mountains.

350mW It outranged the control signal (FrSky) on my whoop.

It is a pretty got VTX and the camera is good as well… If only it had a gyro as well…

Given how young this tech is, it may well do eventually.

I’m hoping so… It’ll improve my videos a load.

Can’t you pull the gyro info from the FC? I don’t use gyroflow, so no clue.

You might be able to, but it’s a right pain.

  1. You have to have a black-box… many smaller FC’s don’t
  2. You have to find the flight in the black-box… this is MUCH harder than you’d expect!
  3. The Black Box fills up ever so quick
  4. You have to be very exact with the camera angle as that will have to be put into gyroflow since the gyro is not in the same plane as the camera…

All-in-all, rather hard to do!

Indeed I did, though had to order from HRC and UMT so… 2 lots of delivery charges… need a one stop shop! lol

Story of my life. I had to do two orders last week. One from YourFPV and one from UMT. No one store has everything. I needed some more 3S Lipos, so that was YourFPV and some more of these props I like for my Flea rebuild. Then some tools, a micro bec, more props, a lipo storage charge discharger and another cheap mains balance charger from UMT.

If they still have them available in a week or two, I have my eye on one of those Spedix 35A 4-in-1 esc that HobbyRC have on offer. I have an F4 FC for another build that would go well with it and then i could build my 2-3S 1108 build.

Was just relacement motors for everything… The one from this video, and then apparently flying a 7 inch through a tree isn’t good for props, and then flying back on a destroyed prop makes motors burn, and then when you come to diagnose you wonder why the USB port has disappeared from the FC… Wank hobby, lol. So that’s 5 motors (of two sizes), load of props, and new FC ordered today!

Nice… I’ve just been doing motors… 1404s for my 3" and 0802s for my 75mm (same as in two of the other tinywhoops, so I bought spares)

But mainly it’s been all about pipe for gates… £1.40 for 3m 21.5mm pipe from Wickes… I’m printing connectors right now.

Yeah I need to order some motors soon. Looking for at least four Emax Eco 1404 5200kv (if I can find them and if not 6000kv), four Emax Eco 1407 4100kv and I need to send an email to Gaf at YourFPV and ask if he plans on sourcing any RCinPower 1003s, if he does I will want four of those as well, if not I will get more 14000kv 1002s.

The pipes for gates and cubes is yet to come.

My previous 1106 motors were emax eco… The bells kept coming off. I have been running them for 18 months or so.

I looked for 1404s to replace them. I’ve picked up some skystars. They seem nice so far just powering them up… I have yet to take them out for a flight.

RCInpower has a good rep.

If I could find/get some i would prefer the RS1408’s in a 3600kv size, they apparently go like lightning, but very few places sell them now.

All of the motors I’ve bought a late are RCinPower, basically two sets of 1202.5 in 11500kv and 6400kv, one set of 1002 14000kv and i have one set of Emax RS1108 for a 2-3S 3" build. I looked at the RS1106, but the price difference between it and the 1108’s is like 20p, so I went for the 1108. :stuck_out_tongue: More power is better.

I was thinking of using these for gates. £13 for 2
