Mountain surfing near Bristol!

Hey Gang…

So we’ve all seen the gorgeous mountain surfing videos online - usual shot in the Alpes somewhere.
But I’m in Bristol… anyone know of anywhere near where i can ride some challenging terrain? I’m thinking I’ll probably have to head over to Wales.

Search YT for Crib Goch drone videos

Either that or the Peak District, lake District or if you fancy a really long drive Scotland.

How about the Valley of the Rocks, not too far away from you. Could have some fun there. I didn’t manage to get any video as it started chucking it down.

It’s not the Alps… but the Sugar Loaf isn’t too far over the bridge from you. And it may get a dump of snow on it in the next few weeks.

Cadair Idris would be pretty suitable, and it’s about an hour’s drive closer to Bristol than Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). Cadair is a proper mountain by anyone’s standards, a tougher walk than Yr Wyddfa because the base is at a lower level, and steep & rocky on all sides.

Pen y Fan is about 90 minutes closer still for you, and quite good for surfing. Dropping down off the Corn Ddu-Pen y Fan saddle or the Tommy Jones memorial to Llyn Cwm Llwch would be quite exciting!

Amazing suggestions chaps, thanks so much. Cheddar Gorge looks mind blowing… if only there wasn’t a road running up it!
