It’s well worth the effort, but don’t worry if you don’t make it to Donard, the whole area has plenty of places to fly. This is one I took at the saddle between Donard and Commedagh. You arrive at the saddle whether you come up from the Donard car park in Newcastle or the Bloody Bridge car park on the Kilkeel Road, so even if you don’t go to the summit you can still get some great shots.
