My first Crash after just over a year of flying

I was doing a gutter inspection with my Mini 3 Pro plus some general photography for the charity I volunteer with (a London Youth Club and Community Centre with food bank). My spotter had just said “ah, birds” as a flock of pigeons out of nowhere was all around the drone. Within a second a pigeon collided with the drone and it dropped out of the sky. The collision folded in the right rear rotor arm (causing the crash) . It landed in some longish grass just missing a giant container full of asbestos covered in a tarp. Only damage was one cracked prop. Sadly I wasn’t shooting video at the time.

A reminder that even a super reliable carefully pre-flight checked drone can fall to the ground at any time without warning. Insure them and avoid flying over people wherever possible.

We feel your loss, but given the rules of the internet without photos or video it never happened ;o)
