I finally received my DJI Mini 3 Pro. I waitied (very impatiently I might add) to take to the skies. Living in Rugby there is one very distinct landmark that I wanted to capture, especially as I used to work there many moons ago.
I have edited thew image in Lightroom and Photoshop and welcome any creative criticism.
Nicely done Kevin! Although I’m not a fan of either borders or signatures on photos (at least yours is discreet) ![]()
It looks good on both white and black backgrounds but, again to my taste, thesky and clouds are too blue, I would have liked to see them more neutral as on the left in the picture below:
You, and others, are welcome to differ - and no doubt will!
Thanks for your feedback. Everyday is a school day.
Have to agree with @macspite on the colour of the sky. For me it is fighting with the grey of the building, which is the main subject, and a little over cooked. The tower is placed nicely on a third, you have a nice diagonal element leading you into the picture but at the end of it some of the building has been clipped, this is pulling my gaze out of the picture instead of naturally flowing to the left where the tower is. Maybe hyper critical? But you did ask ![]()
ps you should have a look at the fun and friendly edit comp in the challenges section, try your luck in there and hopefully we can at some point see this being entered, I think it would make a good subject for us.
Thanks for the feedback. I aim to always improve so happy to receive your input
While we are on the subject of competitions there is a fortnightly RTF (Reason To Fly) Competition.
Three subjects are randomly selected from a list of competitor suggestions. One is chosen by a poll of GADC members. Once the subject is announced you have a fortnight to present your imag. Judging of the winners is bay a poll open to all GADC members.
The curent RTF is “All One Colour” which seems to be causing some discussion. It has ten days to run and can be found here
Great picture v
Thanks Peter-J
I’m only a tv cameraman and always take my hat off to photographers: I shoot 25fps and you guys shoot 1 which has to count.
What I can say is you’ve bought a great little drone: I’m not suggesting you do, but I’ve flown mine next to power lines and mobile phone masts and never a problem. Birds don’t like it though!
@mpaull I know the historic reason why 24/25 fps were used in filmography as it was a limitation of the equipment many yrs ago but with higher frame rates available nowadays I’d love to know what the pro’s preferences are and why?
This going off topic. There are other topics where 24/25/0/60fps are discussed.
