Do you ‘need’ all the lights? Or just want them? I’ve flew tonight with just two lights on the rear legs, and with the built in light on the bottom and front, I could see it fine.
Depends how far you’re intending to fly it I suppose. You could argue VLOS at night with these lights is superior to daylight conditions. Assuming you’re aware of what obstacles are around!
I bought, fitted and tried crees. Very bright. I have never used them in the field, yet flown under the moon many times. Why? The faff. As for weight, especially for a couple of grams +/- 250g, I honestly don’t think the copper (or busy body) who’s pulling you (1/1000 chance) would have a set of jewellers scales on them.
If the purpose of crees on the drone are due to flying in a heavily light polluted area at night, fair enough. But if you are in a less light polluted area, like the suburbs of a town or country side (bortle 5 or lower), I personally find letting your eyes adjust for 5 minutes, before flying, works wonders.
Hi Ash…One more question…I have seen a mount that takes one Cree and it clips under the Mini 2 Body. Do you also do this mount ???
Thanks for been fast with your answer…
@Robwak
This may be too late for you but,
I got this from e-bay and it’s just right, easy to put on and take off and the drone is still under 250g
Some under carriage ones covers the on/off button so you have to drill a hole in it so you can reach the on/off button of the drone.
Thanks for taking the time to notify me of the new addition.
Will take a look at that…Looks nice and neat.
Can you see it easy enough with it been on the top of your Drone ???
I’ve just tryed it tonight sadly its not the best place to put it if you want to see it from the ground .
Looks I will be using both for good visibility from the ground .
Get the 3M loops that you can buy with the cree or buy a strip of it on ebay. Very adhesive & cree can be removed. Lightest option & placed more or less wherever you want them.
