My video stutters -especially visible when panning

I had the recording at 25 fps. i can’t see it can be set for anything else @ 4k.
using nd filters to slow down shutter speed too. Just have to get it up in the air and try again as soon as possible.

@Peteh13. I’ve got stutter on footage straight off the Mavic. un edited.

@Peteh13
very evident when you fly your drone sideways as well.

Hope the firmware refresh has did the trick Joe.

I think if you select NTSC you can choose 4K/30 and that’s what I always used.

From memory I think a few people complained of stutter in PAL format so NTSC may be worth a shot.

Just had a look. Interesting, but you would need to spend £96 pa minimum. A good idea if your current computer won’t handle 4K though, there are some really nice features in the package, like the animated titles etc.

Thanks for this. I brought my children up in Chapel Avenue, Addlestone. :slight_smile:

I’ve had a closer look at my vid on YouTube - viewed on 55” screen. It appears that the stutter occurs ever second so point to frame rate I think.
I’m all set now with 4K 30fps - fingers crossed - I’m optimistic .

@SteveBell - re wevideo - as soon as I realised my iMac wasn’t up to the task and I needed to shell out large on a replacement , I figured £96 for a year was a bargain .
Yet to fully appreciate this solution - as soon as my video stutter is behind me.

I know it well, I live just around the corner!
I keep meaning to re-film Coxes Lock - this time without the stutter!

@joe.k I think you need to be shooting 4K 25fps as WeVideo renders its output at 25fps.

Exactly what happened to me. My trusty 2009 iMac just isn’t up to the job!
And WeVideo is $96 so about £75. Even more of a bargain!!!

@Peteh13
Been shooting exclusively at 25fps since getting the drone about 4 weeks ago and all recording stutter.
So trying out latest firmware / PALand then 30 FPS NTSC is my only option.
WeVideo is US based … I think they should accept anything you throw at them, and NTSC should be no problem at all .

NTSC / 30 FPS associates with US 60 hz whereas PAL / 25 FPS associates with UK 50 hz Don’t think this matters much these days.
If all fails… DJI have asked for samples vids taken in all resolutions and frame rates… hope I don’t have to go that far.

Correct! Unless someone’s watching on an old CRT TV.
Most modern screens scan @ 60Hz … so 30/60 fps better sync.
Recording @ 25fps will have fast moving things getting stutter.
Even CRT screens were really a kind of 50fps … even though that’s interleaved frames to give 25 full fps.
Can’t think of a single good reason to use anything less than 30fps these days. Smaller files? Get a bigger card! :wink:
