This bridge used to carry the East Coast mainline trains into York until the Selby coalfields paid for the entire mainline to be moved west because of a risk of subsidence. Now it carries nothing but cyclists, joggers and dog walkers as apart of the transfer one cycle network. The artwork on top of the bridge is…er, well it’s art.
