NC500 route and drone spots

So from the 23rd I am heading to the Isle of sky and I am doing the NC500 route, I was wondering if people could help me work out some good flying locations and also good campsites as we are hiring and campervan

Look at the locations that folks have added to Drone Scene for the best places to fly, each of which will have parking and TOAL spots and a photo or video, as to campsites, all I know is that it is best to book in advance…
Clear skies, enjoy the trip and I shall look forwards to seeing your footage / photos when you return…

Drive it anti-clockwise unless you enjoy following other campervans, scenery up there is amazing but roads get narrow in some stretches and not a lot in way of fuel stations either. Enjoy the trip

Travelling the NC500 in a few weeks and notice a lot is forbidden space on Drone Assist

Anyone who has done the route or local with advice where is good and without annoying locals ?

Seeing as you are a gold member, why not give our very own Dronescene a try? The NC500 is a rather large area so you may have to be a little more specific for more detailed info. The biggest restriction you may be seeing on the other app, is the low flight practise area for the RAF which covers muchnof the west coast/highlands. It is only unuseable if there is a current NOTAM on it. There are of course some airports and MOD areas to be avoided, RAF Lossiemouth and Inverness airport spring to mind immediately

Check out the RAF low flying timetable, and if in doubt ring the Low flying unit..

As to TOAL, use common sense, and look at where you want to fly - wee are off to Tongue to see friends in a few weeks, and are hoping to visit more of the NC500 before doing it completely in October…

There are a few pins in the Dronescene map around the NC500, so plenty of ideas…

Enjoy your trip, it is beautiful up there…
