Just made a cheeky little purchase of some bumpers for my Neo. For under £7 (eBay) I think it’s a no-brainer to add these, especially given that it’s not going to impact weight much. I guess it might shave a minute off flight time, but if it protects the drone from potentially terminal crashes that has to be a good thing.
They feel rubbery, rather than rigid plastic, and fit really well. Has anyone else fitted them/had any experience with similar?
I didn’t share a link before as if the seller removes or renames the product the link won’t work, but a quick search under Neo Bumpers will throw up loads of options.
Again, given the weight of the drone, I think adding this additional protection can only be a good thing, unless it is detrimental to the drone’s performance. I would expect a small hit on battery, of course, but not much. I saw a video on YouTube where someone was able to balance four Oreo biscuits on top of the Neo and it still flew, so it can clearly handle an extra payload.
How do these fasten on? Just wondering as I got some from eBay and they have little tabs that clip under the Neo top guards. Absolutey useless, kep flirting off and didn’t fit the radius at all so Ill get some of these if the stay on ok.
They just clip on, but are very snug. They are rubbery, rather than harder, more rigid plastic. At first, I thought they may be a little too small, but as I pushed it into the shape of the drone it just snapped into place, over the top propellor protectors. There are cut outs for them to go over.
At £7 it’s worth a pop, I think. The big test will be flying with them. Due to weather I’m not likely to be doing that for at least a week.
