Let me just see if I’ve got a spare 10k behind the sofa …

All this talk of Enterprise level aircraft, built in redundancy, IP 55 water and dustproof - fine. But it’s still a quad - lose one prop and the aircraft is toast.

This just popped up on my news feeds bit old news but a different take.

It is stable on three props

I stand corrected. That is impressive.

Want one!

The dog’s bollocks!

Purdy drone.

BUT

For all the hype, are any actually in stock with any retailers…? When will they actually be available?

If the current dearth of commercially-oriented DJI drones is anything to go by, I have my doubts. Current lead times for anything DJI which is out of stock seem, ahem, rather open-ended at the moment.

It also doesn’t have the big advantage of the M300 which is as a platform for all sorts of other sensors. Whilst I can see the M30 being worthwhile for the likes of the emergency services, the ā€œintegrated cameraā€ suggests that this will be at the price of flexibility to carry other stuff.

Don’t get me wrong, I think there’s a while lot to like about DJI especially for certain commercial applications e.g. inspection where a drone needs to consistently work out the box with no drama. (Heck, I own quite a few DJI drones). But I am getting a bit twitchy about the increasing extent of being tied into the DJI ecosystem if the supply chain becomes unreliable…

I like DJI drones, I fly an M300 amongst other kit. I’m impressed at the M30 specs. But I don’t particularly want one, just doesn’t meet my needs. Bizarre, eh?

how does that work with the drone code, having an operator and maintaining VLOS?

presume the drone is over 249g?

Moved your post here to a discussion already covering the M30 and the dock

have to disagree, a first demo is more newsworthy than a year old thread that hardly anyone will now not see…

One could argue more will see it, the thread has now been bumped to the top
