Hi there
Hi,
I have the new DJI FPV, and it i can fly it with one and you’ll be fine, big investment but well worth it.
Hi,
Welcome to GADC
Welcome to the club.
I’m sure that you’ll get the hang of it. We all have different learning curves, but like everything, putting yourself to do something is half getting it done.
BRILL m8
ex military you would give some good insight
and a new hobby to exvets
Welcome to the group.
As one who is also relatively new here and also just stepping into the Drone, I can honestly say you’ve made to great choices, 1 joining GreyArrows and 2, the Mav Mini 2. A brilliant little drone - especially with the new regs.
Great to see that you’ve not allowed your physical situation to become a limitation. Really looking forward to seeing your pics and vids. You live in a fantastic part of the country.
All the best,
Clive
Welcome to the group as @milkmanchris said few of us yorkshire boys knocking about
I would think a foldable table (like the ones used for picnics) may be of help for using the 2 controller sticks (it is difficult to hold the controller AND control the both sticks in alternance).
I can also imagine a second person in the crew would be extremely useful to you.
A second crew member is by the way, always a good help as an observer for manned planes, etc.
If you are right hander then I think the hardest control for you would be the camera slider being on the back on the left side - My Mavic Air 2 using DJI FLY has on-screen camera control – I do not know if the Mini 2 has the same feature though.
Better than one Eye.
Hi
I too only have one arm but have tried two drones but given up tbh. I’ve had the Mavic Mini and the FPV but with the Goggles wasn’t really what I wanted. I sold both of them on as I wanted a bit of support and couldn’t find a club but really want to try again.
I live in Wakefield and wondered is there a meet up locally and see what you thinks best for me and I’ll start again. The FPV was amazing and easily fly able with one arm but I wasn’t convinced on the Goggles so took a decent offer and sold the lot! Mad probably as I lost a fair bit.
Some suggestions would really help on this one please.
Cheers Mick
The Avata or mini3/4 running the newer integra goggles and motion controller maybe better.
Once the weather improves the @group-yorkshumber are always having meets, keep an eye on the meets section for more info
Cheers Chris. Could I have a Mini 4 with a single flight controller stick like I had with fhe FPV and maybe an iPad as the screen. That to me would be ideal.
Nice to see a local on here
From Castleford myself
Yes you can, but you would still need the Goggles to connect the iPad
Great maybe best to come along to a meet up and go from there.
Keep an eye on the meets , I’m only near Selby and out most weekends somewhere or other
@mdh1975, I designed this awhile ago, it’s tripod mountable or even can be modified for a wheel chair too.
It’s been on the back burner for a while but does enable very precise flight. I’m looking through my archive for the .stl file which I may have lost in my recent Windows failure.
Would something like this be of interest?
Video clip of a flight using the motion controller mounted on a tripod.
Thanks Chris
Hi
Holding the controller isn’t an issue it’s whether I can use this controller with the goggles on a Mavic Mini 4 as that’s all I really need.
Thanks Mick
