Hi all, new here and new to the FPV hobby. I’ve recently been working on a self build freestyle drone and I’m having a bit of trouble getting built. Long story short I’ve put the build together and when I’ve went to use a smoke stopper to test it it came up green, good to go, then when I plugged the battery in the negative wire on both the drone power wire and the battery fried with a puff of smoke for some reason. Are there any FPV self builders in the North East whos ear I could bend for some advice?

Sounds daft but did you have polarity the right way round, im in redcar btw
Yeah haha, I checked that multiple times. I also had the capacitor on the correct way too. There’s no signed of short circuit from solder joints either. I just don’t understand why the smokestopper showed green at 2a then decided to blow.
What gear have you fitted, it could be a rating on something or a possble mismatch of parts or battery size.
It’s a “2fiddy self build by ummagawd” so all the parts come with it. It has Goku GN745 FC, 2400KV motors with a 69% motor output, 6s 380 lipo battery, DJI air unit o3, UPL 470 35v capacitor.
