No thanks needed, Rutty, glad if I can help. Not sure about ‘knowledge’, I’m not far up the learning curve myself and know how confusing and unintuitive some of this stuff is at first, but you soon pick it up. The weather is crap for flying because it’s winter, and that at least means you have time to browse through the manual, but not all manuals are as clear as they could be and full of initials and jargon (FPV, TOAL, UAV, VLOS, &c) which are not all as obvious to newbies as the writers think they are. Then you get some in Chinglish, which are laughably meaningless but well-intentioned…
RTH won’t work from less than 20m away because it already thinks it’s home, it’ll probably go into a hover for you to land manually. This will be in the manual somewhere, but print is often tiny and you’ll have to look for it. It’s worth taking the time to read the manaul and familiarise yourself with it, though, perhaps in sections over a few days since a good bit of it will be a bit techy , because there is usually a lot of information that comes in very useful when you are flying.
I have decided to send the first drone back, several reasons but mainly very poor battety life! Allegedly 30 mins fly time but so far only 10 mins then swap battery!
I am consdiering the DJI Mini 4k or maybe open to suggestions?
there is a reason DJI are a market leader in this - supper easy to fly and they basically fly themselves really - you will love it and you will be in disbelief that you had such a rubbish experience with that other drone
Does the DJI Mini 4 Pro have follow me mode?
DJI Mini 4 Pro is an ideal follow-me drone for beginner photographers and videographers looking to capture footage from unique perspectives. It offers advanced features that make it easy to track moving subjects, such as obstacle detection and avoidance sensors and ActiveTrack technology.
