Wow, the pro is over £1200!
Any thoughts on the Potensic Atom SE?
Anyone got one?
It seems to offer all but for a sensible sum.
Second hand mini 2 along with Litchi software.
The Mini 4Pro might be over £1200 but its worth it as it will be drone that you will have for 2 or more years easily. If you get the one with the controller with the screen that is a game changer over the controller with phone - easy to get setup and fly without having to mess around with your phone and the controller. Well worth the extra £ in my books.
I have the Mini 3 Pro that is already over 2 years old and I have no need to jump to the 4 pro as the upgrades are just not that big enough to justify the upgrade - so if that is anything to go by the 4 pro will do you well and last for ages above any of the competition out there - worth the investment - get DJI Refresh too for that extra bit of comfort in knowing that everything will be taken care of in the event of a loss or crash.
You really cant go wrong - and this is not just a fan boy talk - there is simply nothing really at matches from a performance or tech point of view for the same price or better really.
Is it worth looking at the mini 3 then?
No as it will not have the functions your looking for - Mini 4 Pro is your best bet or a used Mini 3 Pro unit
DJI do refurb kit too on there site if that helps DJI Refurbished Products - Up to 20% Savings, Certified Quality and Full Warranty | DJI.com
My bad, Mini 4K cannot be used with Maven for ‘follow me’ mode (a reason to hang on to my Mini 2…).
The DJI Neo has follow me, costs less, and might be suitable for your purposes, but is smaller snd less wind-resistant, possibly a factor when you sre filming fast downhill skiing.
Cheers again… They appear good but pricey tbh!
The potensic looks very good for the price and has the RTH, avoidance and follow me.
DJI have the advantage of ‘Care Refresh’. I usually dismiss these extended warranty deals as ripoffs, but this one seems pretty good value and is well regarded by forumees here. Their ability to monitor and record your flights means that they can offer to replace any ‘legitimately’ lost of crashed drone for 20% of price. Of course, for all I know Potensic may have a similar or better deal…
TTBOMK the Potensic Atom is a pretty good drone with a solid reputation, a valid choice.
Honestly please save yourself some heartache and get something DJI. I personally know 3 people who bought cheaper drones. All of them had a DJI within 6 months and regretted the previous purchase. I just sold my mini 2 with 4 batteries, hard case, two chargers, filters, soft case, cree strobons and a host of other bits and bobs for 300 quid. Yes I took a hit on what I paid, but thats just the way it is with tech. Hang about and keep your money in your pocket, something will pop up in our for sale section sooner or later.
The mini 2, although a fews years old now, is a seriously capable bit of kit, expecially when paired with Litchi. You can pick them up in here for peanuts and they’ll be well looked after.
Cheers for the advice. Re the Litchi app how does that work?
That’s a very vague question.
Have a look at their website, or have a read of this thread: Litchi chit-chat ... What's Litchi? Should I use Litchi?
