Been in the market for a new larger wing and picked up the airframe, motors, servos and ESC (though I’ve already upgraded the ESC) for £20 (gotta stop meeting up with people with stuff to sell!)
Anyways, HobbyRC just delivered the internals so decided to make a thread showing the build for once!
So as an update, as people enjoyed watching it fly at the weekend (I did offer @SparkyFPV and @SirGunner and others a go, well not @yith as he mean and didn’t let me fly his jet, lol, plus his dolphin take offs were… ummmm interesting, still loved the 360 roll one!)
The build was successful, and have enjoyed flying it over the last few weeks, I’ve crashed once trying to self launch by myself, with minimal damage, and one harder landing at weekend just gone.
I’m flying it with a 4S 1550mah GMB battery, I get around 7-8 mins flying the way I fly (80-100% thottle), I think you could get loads loads more if eased off the throttle (easily flies at 50-60kph with 30-40% throttle but where the fun in that), and most have been 3.8V on landing, so definitely got more in. Seems easy to launch (with a @notveryprettyboy at hand).
As stated before and those there Friday night know, I blew the 2206 2300kv motor hammering it at 100% too much after changing the prop from a 5 to 7 inch. Glided it in perfectly, thank god was close to us at the time! Karl had a spare 2507 1500kw avenger brotherhobby, which is what flew for rest of weekend. So that’s the spec now… And it’s not hot or anything.
