Nidd Hall with 2 months experience, hints & tips are welcome

Nice place

A load of history too. That’s the new house that was built in the 1800s to replace the original building, dating back to the 15th century.

Have you thought about adding it to Drone Scene?

Regarding hints and tips, the following was shared with me when I started off:

  1. Keep clips to around 5 seconds
  2. Don’t combine multiple moves in a single clip
  3. Avoid complicated transitions between clips
  4. Reduce the gimbal speed to low to get cinematic footage (see @ianinlondon’s vid below)

Hi,

Thank you for the suggestions, I didn’t even think about the history of the Hall, great idea.

I think I got carried away with filming as it was essentially the first video I had done with any serious thought behind it, I did think 40 minutes was a bit too long.

I will make sure I don’t try to jazz it up with fancy transitions, I thought using different ones would somehow make it less boring. First time I had used that editing program.

Regarding the gimbal speed, it is a DJI mini3 pro and I cant find the setting on the controller even after viewing several You tube videos, everything else is there but just that setting missing, I checked the firmware and it is all up to date. It would make it better for when I adjust the view and go the wrong way, wouldn’t show up as much.

Thanks very much again for your feedback, much appreciated.

Steve.

They are called gain and expo tuning now Chris… I think.

I’m guessing that it must have changed with an update, as I am sure at one point it used to be called advanced gimbal settings :man_shrugging: Well spotted Col :+1:

Yes Chris. Ian put his new YT vid out in Jan I think. :+1:

Thanks guys, all sorted from watching Ian’s video so thanks for the link.

Just need the weather to break so I can put the new settings into practice.

Cheers.
