No big change in noise with Stealth props for Avata 2

I decided to install these on my Avata 2, as YT videos indicated a reduction in prop noise. They are the Master Airscrew Stealth 4-prop.

I can’t fully confirm this, at least not when hovering. I used a decibel meter app on my phone and levels reduced by 1 db from 81 to 80.

As far as flight behaviour is concerned, time will tell. I’ll be able to take it out for a spin again next week. It currently is a bit breezy here in the Midlands. :dashing_away:

Apparently they make it slightly better when freestyling and flying aggressively, think some of the MAS ones though can be more fragile than the stock DJI ones though.

That’s a shame. The noise of the drone is one of my biggest concerns when fly around uninvolved people. I always try to stay high up so as not to disturb the peace. I’ve never encountered any hostile response though (so far). Only interest as to what I am doing.

I took the Avata out for a proper flight yesterday to one of my favourite flying spots in a field nearby. I noticed that the noise hasn’t really decreased, more changed to a more whining one. I couldn’t tell a big deal in terms of handling, but maybe I lack the flight hours and experience with this drone. I think I’ll change it back and keep the Stealth props as a spare set.

This is very true with the ones on the original Avata - use to use them loads - they fly better as there are quite a bit stiffer than the OEM ones but as a result a small bump will shatter them

Gone back to the OEM ones as I got a bit fed-up of changing them just about every flight where as the OEM ones lasted way longer.

As for the noise they have a different tone and were not as shreeky so not as intrusive I felt.

That’s interesting. For me, it was actually the other way round. I found the MAS ones shreekier. Maybe something for me to get used to.
