Plenty of parking, Bulwell Forest Golf Course clubhouse opens at 06:00hrs for Breakfast, if you find you can’t sleep

The golf course has plenty of trees to fly around if your into FPV or Autumnal Tree photography.
The last part of the Old Rolls Royce run way, is a tarmac open area, so you can just fly without worrying about trees or other obstacles (remember Trees are dicks and they tend to jump out in front of drones 
)
The old Rolls Royce is no more and it’s been subject to an housing and industrial development , which means it won’t there in 3-4 years.
Those that are old enough will remember the old war time black & white movie “The One That Got Away”, well that movie is based on the exploits of Franz von Werra, a German prisoner of war who escaped from Swanwick, Derbyshire and stole a plane at Hucknall Aerodrome in 1940.
Hucknall Aerodrome became Rolls Royce, which had involvement in anothet well known Aircraft.
On August 19 in 1953 a prototype of the very first vertical take-off aircraft made its maiden flight at Hucknall Aerodrome. That technology / principle eventually lead to the RAF’s Harrier Jump Jet.
The town Hucknall was also home to Eric Coates, who wrote the well known movie
theme music to Dambusters.
