I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

1440×1440 839 KB

Land owner permission not required.

This haunting sculpture is made all the more powerful by its odd location.

It’s backdropped by a half-collapsed barn, surrounded by the expanse of a remote field in the village of Checkendon in south Oxfordshire.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 01/07/2021. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

I’ve just checked and I believe the precise location is ///storybook.affair.tight and not as shown on Drone Scene; see what3words /// The simplest way to talk about location.

Thank you for the update @Howard we have moved the marker pin on the map to the correct position.

There are no parking or take off and landing markers on the map at this location. Could anyone that has flown here or knows the area add some useful markers to the map, please?

The problem is that there isn’t any proper parking nearby - there’s no layby for example. Park sensibly on the main road and make sure you’re not obstructing anything near the junction. TAOL can be there too, or at the entrance to the field that has the sculpture, here Google Maps.
