Official Documentation to fly a drone under 250g

Hello there, I am in the process of obtaining my drone licence to enable me to fly heavier drones.

However does anyone know where I can find some official documentation that I can send a company to state that it’s legal (as long as I have the correct insurance in place. Plus a Flyer ID.) to fly a drone under 250g. Without having an A2 of C or the GVC.

I can send a link to the page on the CAA. But wondered if there was anything more I can send.

Thanks in advance.

It’s hard to find documentation for things that are legal, because there are no laws that reference legal things - because they’re, well, legal

A bit like me producing a piece of paper to say I am allowed to wear a hat in winter

Maybe try a few searches on the forum or look at this thread from 2 days ago:

the company I work for has a minimum requirement for drone flights on our sites

Fly ID / Op ID + A2 CofC and 3rd party liability.

The way they check the Fly ID is via the CAA website so you submit that info to the company along with a copy of your 3rd party liability and a copy of your A2 CofC ( if you have it or need to have it ) and then they can check that its all valid - Not sure if my company will take a screen shot of the reg details - but I guess you could also use the email from the CAA when you register too. Some might also accept an ID card that has these details on too - such cards are in the merch shop here too

And some like mine demand £20m in liability insurance.

As well as compliance/certification on many other aspects of site work.

Not sure what the liability amount is for my place but yeah they also ask for risk assessment - cone’d off areas for pilot and craft - PPE for site access ( Hi-Viz and safety shoes ) The A2 CofC is needed regardless of the size / type of drone as they want to make sure that you do know your stuff and not just paid the CAA and have zero understanding of the rules.

Look on YouTube for Geeksvana. They produced a couple of leaflets that are really useful, one that can be shown to general public and to show to police. They have QR codes on them linking to drone rules and CAA.

I linked to that at the start of this thread
