When coming from either Muker, or Reeth, just after or before the Punch Bowl Inn take the left/right turn, and proceed up the hill and across the fell for about 2mls, as you drop down the hill, there is a decent size parking area on the right just before a bridge. To get to the Smelt mill head over the bridge and take the track on the left for just over a mile (15-25mins depending on your fitness levels) it is a public footpath.
