The fourth and final video edit from last weekend’s daytrip, the second location visited, Old Oswestry Hillfort, looking great in the early sunshine…
Nice vid! It’s on my list of sites to fly.
This is one of the best surviving examples of a multi-rampart hillfort in Britain. It was also in use for nearly 1,000 years, which is longer than most. It was then abandoned when the Romans turned up.
Why not add it to Drone Scene? It is a great place to fly and no one has pinned this location yet.

Thanks, its EH so TOAL away, or get there early enough that no-one else is around to be offended - No EH staff are regularly on site, but you never know with some of the folks around… Also watch out for the sheep grazing on top - hence why I kept a good distance out to try and capture the mood of the place…
Will do…
EH or NT, yes, as long as TOAL outside of their boundary, we’re fine … regardless of what they may say. As for the sheep (or cattle in general), I’d have no issue with a sub 250g drone. My DJI FPV however would be a definite no-go
When I was in the Lake District a month ago, we had a field full of sheep in front of the cottage, and we regularly had visits from RAF and USAF jets and helis (and Ospreys), the sheep didn’t bat an eyelid!
I am only mentioning as I had a farmer holler at me in Dumfriesshire a few weeks ago, I was a good 100m from him and his sheep - two of which were following him like dogs, but one of the sheep looked in the drone direction and he then saw it and exploded, wasnt a nice experience… As a resukt I am at pains to make sure I am well clear of any animals, just a part of my pre-flight checks…
It’s not a bad thing to keep away from animals, but the only problems I’ve had has been with some dogs, especially collies and spaniels. Sheep and cows just look up, then carry on eating and crapping everywhere!
I was at the Rhyl airshow on the beach at the end of August, and nothing, and I mean nothing upset the seagulls, they just carried on with what they were doing.
