On freedoms wing - Added to Monuments in North Kesteven, East Midlands

On Freedom's Wings, North Kesteven

The structure, unveiled in September 2025, is situated next to the A46 road in Norton Disney, Lincolnshire. It lies between Newark-on-Trent and Lincoln near RAF Swinderby, a former RAF Bomber Command station. Erected by the Bomber County Gateway Trust, this organisation was established to design procure construct and install an iconic landmark art installation on the Nottinghamshire-Lincolnshire county border.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 30/12/2025. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location. Landowner permission may be required before taking off.

Interesting but boring fact - bloke I currently work with told me about this a few months ago. Either one of his family or a mate had a large part in designing and building this. He mentioned that parking was an issue, as the land around it is private land, however the Gateway Trust are looking into feasibility of buying some of it to create a car park

The neighbouring quarry was shut for New Year’s Eve, so I parked in their entrance. Would have been nice to get closer - had to use full zoom:
