I’m pretty sure this has been asked a zillion times before but damned if I can find a thread with some answers. Please move this to an existing thread if there is a general one.
A rather well known Midlands photographer is doing some architecture photography for a new build school, and the school wants some drone footage.
The photographer asked for quotes for drone footage, I put my hat in the ring with a quote, had some conversations about what was involved and got the gig. (now bricking it, but we’ll save that thread for another day if it goes terribly wrong)
One thing I completely forgot about was my liability insurance (recently renewed via GADC thankyou very much) obviously only covers hobby flights.
Any recommendations for one day cover, and any experience of how last minute I can apply for it, knowing how unpredictable the weather is at the moment there’s probably a high chance we’ll have to keep rescheduling.
Also anything else I’ve probably no doubt overlooked here. Flight will be in a residential area so using the Mini 3 Pro.
And for those nosey buggers who always ask how much did you charge. As I made them well aware I wasn’t a professional, I said £25 for each hour on site and £25 per hour for editing + travel expenses. (At this point I’d forgot about the insurance so going to take that on the chin assuming it’s not too pricey)
We think we can get the whole job done in 4 hours. The footage asked for is just basic orbits and a top down overflight. Will probably just use POI mode for most of it.
