For a start the article is wrong. It’s a 12bore shotgun not a rifle. Its effective range is 50 metres.
If the attackers are good people and adhere to the drone code while trying to kill their opponents they can fly up to 120 metres above the soldier firing his Benelli M4 Advanced Impact (AI) Drone Guardian.
The rifle shotgun will be effective in the last few seconds as the drone dives on target, assuming the ordnance it is carrying is an integral part of the UAV and not air-dropped from it.
And what does the soldier tasked with anti-drone warfare do with his normal weapon and ammunition when carrying the rifle shotgun and its own ammo? Or is he expected to carry both?
