Pairing a DJI Mini 4 Pro to a DJI RC (1)

Hi Folks
After the disaster with my mini 3 pro controller i purchased a new controller.
The drone then gave in the game.
So ordered a mini 4 pro that arrived today with the controller that a mobile phone attatches to.
Ive tried connectiong the controller with the screen but it will not pair.I have included pic as i have no idea what the name of the controller is, All i know when i purchased it it was stated compatable with mini 3pro and mini 4 pro.
Open the screen to connect and get a list of craft to pick from. Mini 4 pro is not on the list.
Have i thrown good money after bad as i cannot find a way to pair.

Sadly the Mini 3 controller without the antenna on them will not work with the Mini 4 pro - different transmission system

You need the RC2 controller that looks like that but has some antenna’s on it.

While looking similar, the DJI RC and DJI RC 2 use different internal radio chipsets and OcuSync versions.

DJI RC is compatible with:

  • DJI Mini 3 Pro: O3
  • DJI Mavic 3 Classic: O3+
  • DJI Mavic 3: O3+
  • DJI Mavic 3 Cine: O3+
  • DJI Air 2S: O3

DJI RC 2 is compatible with:

  • DJI Mini 4 Pro
  • DJI Air 3
  • DJI Air 3S
  • DJI Neo

so ive wasted my money.When i purchased the controller it stated works with mini pro 3 and 4

Sounds like you’re within your consumer rights to send it back for a full refund :slight_smile:

the drone came with the phone attatcment controller so will have to use that

After 2 hours of trying to donwload app for phone im stuck.

You’re going to have to download from DJI link below

They were stopped from using the Play Store a few years ago due to dodgy data sharing practices

Failing that I have downloaded it and put it on wetransfer

Thank you, It loaded in a few mins from DJI site.
Just got to research controls now as im used to using controller with a screen built in. Had to remove phone protective case as well to be able to plug it into controller. Not happy about that.

Phone is same layout pretty much as the controller screen

I find it better tbh with the sticks below the screen , seems more natural

Yes im looking in to that now.
New drone shows how bad the mini 3 pro was. That had a horrid grinding noise when takking off.In flight it sounded like a lawn mower haha.
New drone is quiet and very fast.

Just short flights until i get used to the speed.My old 3 was slow in normal flight. this thing is like a race horse in normal

Had a hour flying this morning before the wind got up. Jeez shows how cream crackered the mini 3 pro i had was.
This thing is far quieter but very fast.Wind got up a little so called it a day.
