Perhaps the most beautiful unknown Waterfall in Scotland... Cassley Falls, Achness

Perusing the maps while planning a visit to Raven’s Rock Gorge we noticed the nearby notation for the waterfalls of Achness - actually on the signage board as the Cassley Falls - and decided, as we were in the area, we would pay it a short visit.

What a hidden gem of a spot! Car parking for 3 or 4 cars on a single track road, a short 3 to 5 minute walk through beautiful woodland - serenaded by birdsong and teased by the sound of the falls - and then the open vistas of the falls - not massive in height, but the River Cassley is a large river, and the series of falls is both impressive and picturesque.

Add in the fly fisherman seeking Salmon, the sunny day, spring colours on the trees and a perfectly sited bench to sit on, and a relaxing time was had by us all.

I flew with the AVATA2 and AIR3, both of which performed well, there is another set of falls further up the river, perhaps next time we visit we may take a walk up there - we are back in that area on June for a week, although by then I am sure the Midges will be out and looking for targets!

But … now it’s not unknown, you’ll have to change the title. :winking_face_with_tongue:

Another brilliant Suzyvid!

I watch your stuff, and it’s not bullshitting to say I find it inspirational, with two things going on in my mind, thus:-

Thing the first - 'wow, girl can fly, look at that, lovely rock, what is it? some sort of gneiss or shist, metamorphic anyway, look how clear the water is, bit of tanning staing from the peat bog on the top of the mountain, good whisky water…

Thing the second - 'here we go, strap in, bugger me that was close, no, Suze, no, PULL UP FFS!!!*. phew, that was WATCH THE TREE!!! ok relax, she can’t get through that gap in the rocks, can she, she’s going throught the fucking gap in the fucking rocks what’s wrong with the crazy bint, shit, she got through, oh, no another tree pulluppulluppullup DON’T PULL UP STAY THERE AND BANK LEFT, LEFT, SHIT!!! ok, close your eyes if you can’t see it it isn’t happening, ah, now that’s nice, see how relaxing it is when you gain a little altitude Suze, stay in the middle of the sky, keep away from the edges, I’m feeling better now, and…

WHERETHEFUCKDIDTHATPRECIPICECOMFROM,
AAAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHH!!!

Seriously, The Squeeze complains about me flinching and whimpering.

Lol, thanks for the brilliant comment…

I appreciate the compliments and am glad the videos engage you that much…

I always look at the conditions and try to fly within my skillset, I know I sometimes push it a bit, but it just has to be done, and the results are generally worthwhile… I do know that one day my luck will run out, and I will lose one of the drones, but that’s what insurance is for, and tbh I enjoy pushing the limits…

Thanks for taking the time to write that, it has made my morning

You are, genuinely, welcome!

Your flying skills are phenomenal, and you enjoy the edgy stuff, which is the most important thing; it’s a hobby, you’re supposed to enjoy it! But if I flew like that, a) the flight would not last long and there would be one more take-off than landing, and b) I would need therapy, or at least a hefty dose of lithium, to calm down!

What works for me is the middle of the sky, keeping away from the edges of the sky, above obstacles, check out the view, do a slow hovering rotate, different angles, take some fots, do vid, land, go for a beer, check out the vid or the fots the following day while I’m recharging everything. I will occasionally try something a bit more risky and ‘close quarters’, but I only ever do it very slowly and carefully!!! I like a view, there’s always something to see with a view, and the drone has opened new angles and vistas in familiar spots that I find fascinating.

Don’t stop scaring the bejaysus out of me with your vids, though, Suze, I luvs 'em, I does! And you get to parts of the country I can’t with that campervan, so I like the views as well!

Thanks…

I am blessed with good hand/eye coordination and 20/20 vision - with me glasses on - but I don’t think I have anything special in terms of flying skills, I just have put in the time to practice and have a good awareness of what I can do, even if I push it occasionally…

We each have our own styles and ways of flying, I like to get into the landscape, to bring it in to fill the screen, which means perhaps sometimes flying a bit closer in than most do, but it seems to work for me, and as you said, the important thing is to enjoy what we do…

I have a nice calming Rainbows, reflections and views video coming soon, all from a hundred feet up or so, and another at Ravens Rock Gorge where I am among the trees, flying over the Burn and under the downed trees, both work, just different horses for courses…

I shall carry on doing what I do until either the rules change or I lose a drone, and even then I will probably carry on…
