Pinecone Point - Added to Forests and Trees in Scotland

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission requirements unknown.

Parking at "Hermitage" (small fee applicable).

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 02/11/2020. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

Well, here’s hoping the weather gods are good to us next week

That’s a properly nice video, Craig @Cragdoo

Biggest potential problem with Pinecone Viewpoint for drone flying is other visitors - it’s a popular place. The only real TOAL point is the small viewpoint itself.

Car parking at the Hermitage car parks (upper and lower) is £5 (Sep 25); free to National Trust members. However, at the car park entrance - just off the main road - there’s a steep looking gravel track that takes you up to another free car park.

In the wider Hermitage area there is also: Ossian’s Hall, Ossian’s Cave, Torryvald Viewpoint, Rumbling Bridge and of course Pinecone Viewpoint all with drone potential.

Did we mention it can be busy …
