So as you can see in the screenshot below everytime I have a video saved on my memory card it has a very long name that I really cannot care for, I need it to be simple like video001 or file001.
Can someone please show me step by step using your own screenshots, how do I change file names?
Many thanks
This article details how to do bulk / batch renaming on Mac OS
ok thanks to both but I would rather fix the problem at the source, i.e. I donāt want to downlad an app to do the renaming, I wonder if there is a way to change the name code in which the mini 4 pro saves the files.
or is it not possible?
Not sure why your file names are so long though - both my Avata and Mini3 pro have the file name as DJI_nnnn where the nnnn is a sequence number and nothing else after.
For my file management I just create a folder for the project / flight name then have sub folder for each drone and dump the respective files in there - then I know what they are part of when I use them for editing. I also split video from photoās too.
Is the file name from a transfer to phone then copy to mac ? I have seen them long like that before but cant remember why it was that long.
Best on the Mac for this, set up to detect an SD card and will do it in the background for you
Avaialble on the high seas for āevaluationā, but worth buying

@RemoteIDsaveslives cheers, and sadly Dji sucks for this. Why canāt the end user name its own files?

Itās always been thus with DSLRs, ⦠
@OzoneVibe
not my Canon 5D MkIV I have all the file names to how I want them MK4 and the sequential number.

Iāll modify ⦠āItās always been thus with cheaper DSLRsā.
Your Canon body alone costs ~10x the cost of the camera element of your Mini - and almost 2x the whole Mini 4.
Budget tech has budget features.

So - your solution - a seriously expensive drone that you can attach your Canon to, and you are good to go.

I had the opposite problem, my Mini 2 just names the next batch the same after Iāve formatted the card dji_0001 etc. I donāt want a load of files with the same name, and DJI donāt do continuous numbering like my expensive DLSR does
I change the names of mine as I import them off the card into Lightroom, but Iām guessing you donāt have Lightroom!
Ahh yes, after formatting the sd card, it always does this. What I do is create a folder on my computer for different date pics and import them into the new folder. That way I never get the warning ā This file already existsā
