Police Helicopter - Unmanned trials

It just been on the news regarding NPAS trialing unmanned helicopters as part of their service.

They said they can cover large areas for around 9hrs.

They showed a clip of an officer flying one and it disappeared out of sight…. are the police immune to vlos rules ?:thinking:

like most things in life…. we are all equal…. but some are more equal than others! (I use the same analogy in everything I do….. like speed limits…. they are more guidelines)

Will you be questioning the same of HM Coastguard who are also putting a UAV through its paces in trials in North Wales?

Nope, they’ve jumped through the same hoops as others to have this trial included in the CAA’s BVLOS sandbox:

From what I read this morning, it is the same drone the French use to monitor the channel, it is in the air as I type.

It will have an operator flying the drone and another operating the camera system.

If you’ve got it, a truck brought it…
