Police trial of Drone First Responder

Norfolk Constabulary has been chosen by the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) to lead a trial of Drone as First Responder (DFR) that will see drones remotely deployed to be first on the scene of police incidents.

Just read the article and it says it could be used alongside other aerial support. Just wait till they’re operating BVLOS and bring a police or air ambulance helicopter down :wink::wink:

If they are like N Yorks then they will have an operational authorisation to fly BVLOS

A bit like driving at 150mph and flying helicopter below 500ft

Need to be a great operator to fly BVLOS and avoid another aerial vehicle. Wonder if these drones will have cameras all round if they’re going to use them in conjunction with other ( manned) aircraft ?

I wonder if they’ll have blue flashing lights and nee-naws. Or will they be ‘plain clothes’…
