Polls: All things LiPo ... Min/Warning Cell Voltage & Charging C & Parallel Charging

Having seen a few people push the lipo longer than myself. For a quad or a wing how far to people hammer the batteries.

What for others risk trade off ?

I tend to stick as 3.5V and 3.3V and charge at 1-2C, depending if I am out in the field or at home.

The warning voltage should be set to a value where you can still land safely, usually 3.6-3.5V.

The minimum voltage should be set to a value where damage is imminent, usually 3.3V.

If you fly a battery to less than 3.3V, it will start to be damaged and will not be able to hold a charge anymore, and can even be dangerous

What do people set as warning voltage - how far can/do you push it ?

  • Warning voltage 3.6V
  • Warning voltage 3.5V
  • Warning voltage 3.4V
  • Warning voltage 3.3V
  • Warning voltage 3.2V
  • Warning voltage 3.1V
  • Warning voltage 3.0V
  • Warning ?

What do people set as Min voltage (can show as the skull symbol) - how far can/do you push it ?

  • Min voltage 3.3V
  • Min voltage 3.2V
  • Min voltage 3.1V
  • Min voltage 3.0V
  • Min voltage 2.9V
  • Min voltage 2.8V
  • Min voltage is when throttle becomes unresponsive ?

How fast to charge, C Rating, e.g a 1,000 mah battery charging at 1,000 mA or 1A would be 1C and at 2A would be 2C.

When at home …

  • Change at 1C
  • Change at 2C
  • Change at 3C
  • Change via the solar gods.

  • One battery at a time
  • Parallel charging is fun

Discharge your batteries you did not fly ?

  • All nicely down and balanced.
  • Just check down to 3.6-3.9V
  • Only by flying
  • Never

Storage them of course… And use the un used full packs to storage or charge other things.

Got a lot of work to do here lol

I’ve got 10 packs to storage and balance once I’ve unpacked.

Can’t wait :man_facepalming:

opps change/charge!

Parallel charging comes with high risks and require more time spent ahead of charging (ie balance all the batteries, put them in storage, avoid charging batteries with variance of voltage!).

One advice here, use batsafe boxes - they are cheap compared to the risks & impact of a problem!

I’ve got old ammo case to store my batteries.
